YTD Performance

   One more time, % doesn't mean anything.  I'm a trader and am willing to user certain capital to trade.

   I will start the same number again next year.  If I'm lucky, I might be able to buy another house with the down payment from the stock market.

   I'm pretty much done for this year.

  1. Percentage performance holds much more value than just P/L numbers. A person with a $50K account that makes $2000 for the year is performing much lower than a person with a $20K account making the same profit. It measures the ability to provide a return on total capital available.

    Looks like you have a great year - congrats!
