2015 Reviews.

I had a bad start in January. It is a bad end today. I suffered big from being profit 20 minutes before the closing to lose big by the end of the day.

  Lesson to be learnd:

  1)  Never put the position in danger in the last 15 minutes of the trading day on special days, which include Friday,  end of month and end of the year. Never take it for granted about the market direction.

  2)  Don't be cocky when the money comes too easy. It can be gone easily too.

  3)  Strictly follow the trading plan.

I will work on changing the trading habit in 2016:

1).  Don't ever trade after hours in 2016.  I need to balance my position during the trading hours so that I can relax after the day.  It can be reached with better planning and better risk controls.

2). Don't wait until the last minute of the week to book the profit or close the positions. It is okay to cash out or rebalance the positions on Monday or Tuesday if the goal is reached.

3). Don't be too hard on myself.

I feel really bad when I make the trading mistakes.  I need to relax and think about the bigger picture and don't beat myself on mistakes that I already made. Overall I doubled my salary with the stock profit in 2015.

Happy Holidays!

I'm going to Utah for skiing next week. I have small positions in hand. They are just for fun. I've had a good year. I've used less commission than I did last year.

See you all next year!

I lost interest in updating the blog.

There will be some change towards my work.  They are all good changes. The sad part is that the company had to let go a lot of people last week. All the people who survive will be relocated with good outcome.

I still have a good return for this year. I will resume trading next year. Yeah, I will start with the same amount as 2015, 200K. The goal is still the same. I will try my best not to lose money.

YTD Performance

One more time, % doesn't mean anything.  I'm a trader and am willing to user certain capital to trade.

I will start the same number again next year.  If I'm lucky, I might be able to buy another house with the down payment from the stock market.

I'm pretty much done for this year.

Last time.

The week of Dec 7th.

Weekly summary.

It is a difficult week.   I survived one more time! Hopefully it is a peaceful week next week. I need to have some rest and adjustment. :-)

I'm not going to talk in details how I survived. It is a tough experience that I can remember for a while. (You can tell a little bit from the commission I spent.)

I ended up making money. I'm a trader and not a buy-hold investor. I consider I've traded too much last couple days.  (I had to chase high on Friday and adjust short positions on Thursday). If I have to trade like this, I want to call it a year.

Check the chart, still in a range.

The balance is several hundred  dollar lower than yesterday. The picture was taken a couple hours ago before the closing bell.

Pull back is on the way.

Although the market is uptrend today,  the tick value is less than 1000. The vix drops to the range that traders should be careful about their long positions.

Let's check back in 3---5 days.

Last hour of trading on Tuesday

I don't plan to do anything today now. I bought intraday pull-back twice today.  Normally I get more money on Wednesday or Thursday if I'm lucky. We'll see.

1:30pm Update:

I did very well on trading!  Buying longs and closing shorts and still keep enough for the rest of the week. I like the range market like this.

P&L at the end of the day is higher than the number in the picture.
