4/30/13 Day7 (1581.5---1592.25) Range

Here are  my entry points:    Exit points will be close to 1590 or I change my mind.









Update:  I closed some positions between 11am and 11:30am and then went to Zumba class.
But I didn't feel comfortable at the class so that I came back 15 minutes ealier to close my positions.  A woman's instinct is always correct.  I closed more at higher price!

I'm not posting the chart this time, (I need to do my work now). you can check it out on your own if interested.

My own notes last night:  I"m really struggling to buy dip at this level. I checked last several years data. The up momentum should at least last 1 more day,  That was why I bought dip around 7am.  What happened if I was wrong?   LOL. I had the backup plans.  The reason I came back earlier is that my position size was a little bit more than I can handle.

Ok,  I think I've shown enough my tradings.   I just realize that showing the real tradings from the real account  is very personal. I hope that you guys had fun with my blog. May 1th is a new start. All the best wishes to you!

Monday day 6 (1573.75---1592) Trending up.

Crazy bulls... Only way to make money is to chase high :-). I did it with the risk control in my mind:-)

We have Fed meetings, (I guess nothing will be changed), ECB Rate decisions. NFP  and blah blah.... that is why VIX stays at this level. On the otherhand, is market really that strong? Nah.....

I'm very sleepy at work now at 2:45pm. So I will post my trades soon.

My Trading Methods.

   I told my pen pals that I don't normally use charts. But I wanted to learn and it is just not my cup of the tea. I've had a MS degree in Statistics.  I do believe history repeats itself so that I can find patterns in the market. If I overhead something on the air or from internet. I will write small programs to visually look at the data to verify it. As time goes by, it truly helps me to develop my market skills.

Friday Day 5: (1,572.50---1582.5) Small Range day, again.

   The range was too small to trade. I got 1.5 pts ES in the early morning with my long I got yesterday. I'm glad that I went to lunch with my friend, enjoy the beautiful spring and didn't stare at the screen later on. it would be purely waste of time if I stayed by my pc.

  I would have bet ERs like before. But I need to remind myself about risk control ALL THE TIME. So I didn't do it. But I feel bored :-).




 

Why do I need to

post my trades here? I've had second thought now.  It is none of anyone's business whether I make money or lose. hmmm..... ...

Thursday: daytrade(4): (1570.75-----1588?). Trend up. Don't forget the risk....

I got up and checked the headlines. Besides all the news, UPS' ER actually is good.  I decided to chase high before the market opened  and 15 minutes after the trading. I went back to sleep more after that.

HAHA!!! My high end guess (1588) 4 hours ago is actually right!!

Wednesday: Day trade(3) (1,570.75 --1579) -43 Small range day

Always practice small risks!

I didn't see much of trading opportunities. So I spent most of time working.

Tuesday: Day Trade(2) (1,548.75 -1577) + 152, Breaking out, Trading range expansion.

   Inspired by a friend and I decide to develop a little habit: make winning a habit. So this is my habit. I can day-trade, as matter of fact :-).

Gold Trade

   Tonight, GC provides a very good day-trading opportunity. But I chickened out due to my past experiences with the sudden price movement. I've lost over 10K on HG future in one day before. I decided that I didn't want to be that situation again.  So I stopped.

  Sigh, people tend to make the same mistakes due to the temptation. That is why I wrote it down to remind myself not to do it again. My heart still beats like crazy with not much profit!

I planned to reduce

some positions before the vacation.  I login in IB and I find out the account balance is even higher than yesterday without trading.  Then I changed my mind and I will let the account grow a bit if this is a new trading range.

 I have XX contracts of ES :-). So I will bring my laptop with me on the trip to babysit a bit if the situation is changed.

  Trading is difficult. Keeping the account like this is even more challenge. HA!

I feel very exhausted after spending numerous hours analyzing the market and 

making plans, not mention that I have a full time job.  

Now I'm taking it easy and let the market work for me.  I only do short swing 

trading going forward, hopefully I can still make some small money periodically.

Yeah, vacation is coming. I deserve one.

don't make another new high... 1567.5 is enough. If not. I have to trade again by EOD.

Trading summary for first quarter

1. Did I have a good risk Control?

    I pay attention to my account balance. Most of time my account balance is flat if not up, even today.
I feel like that I was a soldier when I trade in the market and I need to protect it. My money is limited.  

2.  Did I follow the market trend well?

   Most of time I did. Although I've played a little pull-back on the way. But I'm not and will not time the market. I will trade what I see.

3. Did I have good emotional control?

   No, I'm a woman.  But I try to avoid the same mistakes I made before. I lost $900 on Feb 28th to play YM future without thinking. I never did it in March.


Strategies:

   Just do one direction in some specific time-frame.If it is wrong, correct it right away (within one or two days).
